Wisconsin Deal: 5-Year CD Pays 2.10%

Wisconsin quarterWisconsin’s Nicolet National Bank actually shows clients a little love with its 60-month relationship CD rates.

It pays 2.10% APY with a minimum deposit of $1,000 and either a checking account with direct deposit or an MVP money market account.

That beats the top nationally available 60-month CD rate on our CD Rates Leaderboard, which pays 2.05% APY.

Nicolet National Bank’s best checking option is its Real Rewards Checking account, which pays 3.00% APY on balances up to $15,000. The requirements to earn this yield are pretty standard for a reward checking account – eStatements, direct deposit and 10 monthly debit card transactions.

Its MVP money market account requires a $10,000 minimum deposit and pays between 0.20% APY and 0.40% APY, which isn’t very good.

Without a relationship, you’ll earn 1.90% APY – a fifth of a percentage point less – on the 60-month CD.

You don’t have to be a resident of Wisconsin to buy these certificates of deposit, but you have to do so in person.

Nicolet National Bank has branches in Green Bay as well as Abbotsford, Appleton, De Pere, Colby, Crivitz, Eagle River, Fairchild, Marinette, Medford, Minocqua, Neillsville, Phillips, Rhinelander, Rib Lake and Wausau. There’s also a branch across the border of Michigan in Menominee.

If you didn’t act fast, you already missed these rates. Nicolet’s 60-month relationship CD now pays 2.00% APY. Non-relationship 60-month CDs pay 1.75% APY.
