Top Mid-Term Rates Hit 2.2% In Nevada

Nevada quarterThe last time we found great CD rates in Nevada was … well, never.

So kudos to Greater Nevada Credit Union for bringing a trio of odd-term specials to its 45,000 members in northern Nevada.

With a $1,000 minimum deposit, it pays:

  • 1.20% APY for 17-month CDs.
  • 1.70% APY for 27-month CDs.
  • 2.20% APY for 37-month CDs.

All beat the top nationally available CD rates for their corresponding terms on our CD Rates Leaderboard.

But that 37-month offer tops the 36-month lead rate by more than seven-tenths of a percentage point, and the 27-month rate is nearly half of a percentage higher than the 24-month lead rate.

You have to be a member of Greater Nevada Credit Union to purchase these certificates of deposit. Membership is open to anyone who lives or works in the northern Nevada counties of Carson City, Churchill, Douglas, Elko, Eureka, Humboldt, Lander, Lyon, Pershing, Storey, Washoe and White Pine. Current members’ family and household members can also join.

Membership requires a $5 membership fee and a $25 deposit in a share savings account.

Members can buy CDs over the phone or in person at a branch.

There are eight branches in Carson City, Dayton, Ely, Minden, Reno, Sparks and West Wendover.
