In my opinion, the best CD to put your money into right now is the 4 year 3.25% at Discover Bank. Why? Well, I REFUSE to put my money into anything paying less than 3% YET I have hopeful confidence that in the next 4 years rates WILL go up. So...the shortest amount of time I can tie up my money for while still achieving an above 3% rate is....4 years. (sob). Plus the minimum balance is low - $2,500. In the meantime, put as much money as you can into reward checking accounts and DEBIT like it's your job.
