Top 13-Month CD Available Nationally

It pays 1.25% APY with a $1,000 minimum deposit.

How does this rate compare?

It’s two-tenths of a percentage point better than the top nationally available 12-month CD rate on our CD Rates Leaderboard. It also ties the top 24-month CD.

You have to be a member of Quorum Federal Credit Union to purchase these certificates of deposit.

But anyone can join by first becoming a member of the Select Savers Club, a nonprofit group that provides information on managing money and debt so its members can meet their financial goals. The credit union will cover the Select Savers Club’s $5 membership fee if you join both at the same time online.

You can also become a member of Quorum Federal Credit Union if you work for one of its many member companies. You can only find that list by clicking “join now” at the top of the home page.

There is no membership fee or deposit requirement for the credit union itself.

There also aren’t any branches, but members can buy CDs online, by mail and email, over the phone or at a shared service center.

Purchase, N.Y.-based Quorum was founded in 1934 as Kraft Foods Federal Credit Union. It was renamed in December 2005 as it began expanding its membership outside of employees of Kraft and Philip Morris.
