You’ll find a bunch of banks offering the best deal on 12-month CDs this month.
Unfortunately, it’s a paltry 2.00% APY according to our latest rankings of the top 12-month CD rates.
That’s down from 2.25% APY in October and 2.10% APY in November. In fact, the best 12-month certificates of deposit are paying less than the average 12-month CD did last December.

The banks currently offering 2.00% APY nationwide are:
H&R Block Bank, owned by the income tax people, with a minimum deposit of $250.
ING Direct , the online bank of the Dutch financial giant ING, with no minimum deposit required.
Colorado Federal Savings Bank, with a single location in Greenwood Village, Col., requires a minimum deposit of $5,000.
Golf Savings Bank with 37 branches in Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana.
The Jacksonville Bank, which has five branches in northeast Florida, with a minimum deposit of $1,000.
Frontier Bank, which has more than 50 branches in Washington and Oregon, with a minimum deposit of $500.
