Its Prime Investment Account pays 1.26% APY. Although there is a minimum balance to earn that rate, there is no balance cap.

Even if you don’t have $25,000 to tuck away, Coastal Community (www.ccatcu.com) still pays 1.00% APY on balances between $1,500 and $24,999.

That top rate beats the 1.18% APY offered by Incrediblebank (www.incrediblebank.com), which has the top nationally available money market account. That rate is good on balances between $2,500 and $249,999. Anything above that amount earns 0.80% APY.

Incrediblebank is the online division of River Valley Bank of Rothschild, Wis., with 16 branches in Wisconsin and Michigan.

To open a Prime Investment Account at Coastal Community and Teachers Credit Union, a $1,500 minimum deposit is required.

Coastal Community also offers competitive CD rates in several terms.

With a $1,000 minimum deposit, it pays 1.34% APY on 24-month CDs and 2.25% APY on 60-month CDs.
