Texas Credit Union Has A New Name, Maintains Competitive CD Rates

Evolve Federal Credit Union offers good 60-month CD rates.Evolve Federal Credit Union in west Texas has long-term CD rates that are, in one term, more than half of a percentage point better than what you’ll find on the CD Rates Leaderboard.

With a $500 minimum deposit, it pays:

  • 2.52% APY for 60-month CDs.
  • 2.02% APY for 48-month CDs.
  • 1.76% APY for 36-month CDs.
  • 1.26% APY for 24-month CDs.

Its 60-month CD rates are the clear winner.

Our Leaderboard’s top 60-month CD rate, owned by KeySource Commercial Bank, is just 1.95% APY – and requires a significantly higher minimum deposit.

The credit union’s 36-month CD rates are a fifth of a percentage point higher than the term leader, while the 24-month rates are a match.

You have to be a member of Evolve Federal Credit Union (formerly known as El Paso Employees Federal Credit Union) to buy these certificates of deposit.

Membership is available to anyone who lives, works, worships or attends school in El Paso County, Texas, as well as current members’ family members.

Membership requires a $15 deposit in a share savings account.

Members can buy CDs online, over the phone or in person at a branch. There are seven locations in the city of El Paso.

    Evolve has cut all its CD rates. The only one that remains competitive is the 60-month CD, which pays 2.02% APY.
