I pulled out a little more, use the referal program. you can open kids accouts and other family members making 25 for you and 50 for them.
My kids are happy.

Professor and high yields are correct. I walked out after they told me I would have to purchase a box of checks. I haven’t written a paper check in a decade. Why would I want to destroy more trees, since the checks would end up in the garbage after being shredded. With online bill pay, this is preposterous.

you get free checks, any design, with Student/55+ checking account and you do not need to prove TCF bank your student status. With Chase bank, you have to prove them student status and update the status to avoid fees. Chase never provides checks free for students and checks are more expensive compare to TCF bank. Also, TCF accounts can be closed next day without any problems or credit issues. Chase charges account closing fees for less than six months.

I wouldnt go with TCF. I also had to buy checks and got a 1099 for the $50.

TCF suxs. YOU have to buy checks which costs nearly $20. And they report this $50 as income to the IRS. In the end you pocket about $10.
NOT worth it.
