SC Telco Federal Credit Union is offering its South Carolina members one of the best deals in the country on 24-month CD rates.

That’s a third of a percentage point more than the top nationally available 24-month CD rates.

But these certificates of deposit must be purchased in person at one of SC Telco’s branches in Columbia, Greenville, Taylors, Spartanburg, Easley, Liberty and Florence.

Membership is open to savers who work at over 700 companies (it was originally created for AT&T employees), live in Columbia, Spartanburg, Pickens, Greenville or Florence, or belong to the South Carolina Wildlife Federation.

    As of Jan. 1, 2011, SC Telco had cut its rate on 24-month CDs to 1.25% APY. Yeah, almost in half. Too bad.
