Texas savers should remember Alamo Federal Credit Union’s 60-month CD rates.
It pays 2.02% APY with a $250 minimum deposit.
That’s nearly a fifth of a percentage point higher than the top nationally available 5-year deal on our CD Rates Leaderboard.
The credit union also pays 2.38% APY for 7-year CDs.
You have to be a member of Alamo Federal Credit Union to purchase these certificates of deposit. Anyone who lives, works, worships, volunteers or attends school within the area bounded by Loop 410 in San Antonio can join, as can members’ relatives.
Also eligible are local employees of the U.S. Post Office and federal agencies, and employees of the credit union’s select employee groups.

A $5 deposit in a share savings account is required for membership.
Members can buy CDs over the phone, online or in person at the credit union’s two branches in San Antonio.
