Salt Lake City Deal On 5-Year CD Rates

You'll earn 2.05% APY or more with a $500 minimum deposit.Members of American United Family of Credit Unions have two options for increasing their already strong 60-month CD rate.

The credit union pays 2.05% APY with a $500 minimum deposit.

That’s a tenth of a percentage point more than the top nationally available 60-month CD rate on our CD Rates Leaderboard.

But then, to sweeten the deal, American United Family of Credit Unions gives the choice of either a one-time rate bump or a 0.10% bonus.

You have to be a member of American United Family of Credit Unions to buy these certificates of deposit.

Membership is open to those who live, work, worship, attend school or volunteer in Salt Lake County, Utah; and to tribal administrators and members of the Morongo Band of Mission Indians, as well as to employees of the tribe and its organizations and non-tribal individuals living on the California reservation.

Employees and their relatives, and volunteers of various groups detailed on the online application can join, too.

Membership requires a $25 deposit in a share savings account.

Members can buy CDs online or at one of the credit union’s locations in Salt Lake City (American United Credit Union, VAF Branch and VAMCU Branch), Cottonwood Heights (Fort Union Branch) and Draper (Big Valley Branch), Utah; and in Cabazon, Calif. (First Californian), which is home to the Morongo Band of Mission Indians.
