Salem Five Offers Special 30-Month CD

A special eCD has put Salem Five Bank back on the radar for the first time this year.

It pays 1.50% APY for 30-month CDs with a $10,000 minimum deposit.

The top nationally available 36-month CD rate on our CD Rates Leaderboard is just 1.42% APY.

Salem, Mass.-based Salem Five Bank was once a stalwart of the Leaderboard, even leading a term every now and again before dropping its special CDs in August 2011.

We’ve kept an eye on the bank’s standard and relationship CDs, but those rates have been less than stellar. (We’ve also kept tabs on its savings account, which is among the best in the country. It pays 1% APY, but only to new customers.)

Salem Five Bank’s two eCDs only recently appeared. The other one is an 18-month CD paying 1.15% APY.

While that does beat the top nationally available 12-month CD rate, it isn’t nearly as good of a deal as the 30-month offering.

Savers across the United States can easily buy Salem Five Bank’s eCDs online. Learn more at www.salemfive.com or call 800-850-5000.

Salem Five no longer offers a 30-month eCD. It now has a 36-month eCD paying 1.30% APY and an 18-month eCD paying 1.05% APY.
