Here’s an odd collaboration: A television producer for Spike TV and a professor of economics at George Mason University.
But they’ve created a Web site called Econstories.tv, devoted to enlightening the masses on economic theory.
On it you’ll find their first video. “Fear the Boom and Bust” is a rap battle between two long-dead giants of the field — John Maynard Keynes and F. A. Hayak.
The producers are clearly in Hayak’s free market camp and their Web site is sponsored by the Mercator Center, a conservative think tank on the George Mason law school campus in Arlington, Va.
That’s why liberal-icon Keynes winds up with his head in the toilet after binging on all the cheap money created by his ill-advised government intervention in the economy.
But as one of our colleagues here at Bankaholic World Headquarters said, “Where were these dudes when I was doing Econ101?”
