Philadelphia Checking Account Pays $150

red pen on top of a check bookResidents in the Philadelphia area can make a quick $150 after opening a new checking account at TruMark Financial Credit Union.

If you haven’t had a checking account at TruMark before, the credit union, based in Trevose, Pa., will pay you $50 for opening your account and setting up direct deposit, another $50 for making debit card purchases and $50 more for making an online bill payment.

TruMark Financial offers four checking accounts. Two carry no fees, and those are probably the best ones to consider.

The Basic checking account has no minimum balance requirement and no monthly maintenance fees. If you’re age 26 or younger, you can open a Smart Start checking account. Not only does it have no fees and no minimum balance requirement, it also pays 0.25% APY on your account balance.

Once you open up one of those accounts, within 90 days you should set up direct deposit of at least $300 per month, and you’ll receive $50. You’ll get $50 more by making five signature-based debit card transactions within those 90 days. And then, if you make at least one online bill payment during that time, you’ll get another $50.

You’ll receive your bonuses within 120 days of opening your account.

Membership in TruMark Financial Credit Union is available to anyone who lives, works or attends school in Philadelphia or in Bucks, Chester, Delaware and Montgomery counties in Pennsylvania.

You first need to become a member by depositing $5 into a savings account, and then you can open your checking account. You can open your accounts online or at one of TruMark Financial’s 14 branches in southeastern Pennsylvania.
