Bankaholic reader Bill tipped us off on a hot money market rate at Flagstar Bank. Flagstar Bank currently has a 5.30% APY money market account, and requires only $1 minimum deposit to open an account.

This is a great bank rate from a national bank. Flagstar Bank trades on the NYSE (New York Stock Exchange) under the ticker FBC. While their market cap is a far cry from the big banks like Bank of America and Citigroup, Flagstar is valued at approximately $700mil.
