I have used Emigrant Direct for close to four years and I highly recommend this bank. I signed up for it after reading the Young, Fabulous, and Broke by Susie Orman, to which she referred Emigrant Direct as her #1 choice for a Money Market Savings Account.

I’ve too have been a long-time customer of Emigrant and have been pretty happy. Note that they only have a one star Safe and Sound (bankrate.com) rating though. Dollar Savings appears to be a spin of Emigrant to get new money enticed by a higher rate than they are giving to their existing customers. I’ve seen several places doing this now in one form or another (sometimes it’s just a new account type). Moral: watch the MM market closely and movement is necessary to stay in the best yields. I’ve had an Emigrant account for almost 4 years now and would recommend it to anyone. Easy to use, very secure, fast transfers to or from your checking account, and normaly one of the higher interest rates available especialy on something that is so liquid. I give it 5 stars

Does anyone have any info regarding Dollar Savings Direct – Imigrant Direct?
