Leading 36-Month CD Rates Hold At 2.75%

The best rate on 36-month CDs hasn’t changed since March 5 — not something we can say about any of the other top CD rates we track.

While the returns on everything from 3-month to 5-year CDs have dropped, two banks continue to offer 2.75% APY on their 3-year certificates of deposit with a $1,000 minimum deposit.

Alliance Bank, with 23 branches in central New York State.

EBSBdirect, the online division of East Boston Savings Bank, which has 13 branches in the Boston area.

Three banks offer the next best nationally available rate of 2.50% APY:

Tennessee Commerce Bank, which operates a single branch in Franklin, Tenn., with a $2,500 minimum deposit.

First City Bank, a five-branch bank headquartered in Fort Walton Beach, Fla., with a $1,000 minimum deposit.

Acacia Federal Savings Bank, an online subsidiary of the Acacia Life Insurance Company in Falls Church, Va., with a $500 minimum deposit.
