Intervest Bank 2.95% on 18-month CD

One of the best deals going on a certificate of deposit is from Intervest National Bank in New York City.

It’s offering an 18-month CD with a 2.95% APY and a $2,500 minimum deposit.

That’s twice the national average for one-year CDs (1.48%) and considerably better than the national average for two-year CDs (1.71%).

It’s seems like the right term too. If interest rates start to rebound in early 2010, you’ll be ready to reinvest that summer.

good deal considering I don’t have to tie my money up for 3 years. relatively low investment required too.

It’s not that much better than UmbrellaBank’s 2.90% 18 monther with a minimum deposit of 1K.

I would much rather open a rewards checking account and get 5% monthly than have my money locked in for 18 months at 3%.
