INOVA FCU: Great Short-Term CDs For All

three stacks of bundled moneyIt’s been a while since we’ve highlighted a short-term deal, but INOVA Federal Credit Union has two such deals worth a mention – especially since they’re available to savers everywhere.

With a $200 minimum deposit, it pays:

  • 1.00% APY for 31-day CDs.
  • 1.05% APY for 61-day CDs.

Both easily beat the top nationally available 3-month offer on our CD Rates Leaderboard, which is a seriously sad 0.51% APY.

You have to be a member of INOVA Federal Credit Union to buy these certificates of deposit. Membership is available to employees and members of the credit union’s more than 500 select employer groups, as well as current members’ family and household members.

But anyone can become a member through the Elkhart River Restoration Association, which protects and preserves Indiana’s Elkhart River, or TruDirection, a nonprofit dedicated to financial literacy.

Membership requires a $10 fee and $5 deposit in a share savings account, as well as an additional $5 to donate to the Elkhart River Restoration Association or TruDirection if you’re joining that way.

Members can buy CDs over the phone or in person at a branch.

The credit union has nine branches: in Elkhart, Granger, Michigan City and Mishawaka, Indiana; Clayton, North Carolina; and Berkeley, California.
