Here’s Another 2% CD Rate For Everyone

With a little legwork, savers everywhere can take advantage of Indiana’s CommunityWide Federal Credit Union’s better-than-Leaderboard 60-month CD rate.

It pays 2.00% APY with a $2,000 minimum deposit.

The top nationally available 60-month bank CD rate on our CD Rates Leaderboard has yet to hit that mark this year.

So, we’ve been busy searching for ways for savers to take advantage of higher rates from credit unions with membership loopholes.

This deal ties the best credit union offer available to savers everywhere on our list of highest CD rates.

Membership in CommunityWide Federal Credit Union is open to employees and retirees of more than 60 businesses in northern Indiana as well as members’ immediate family and household members.

But anyone can join by first becoming a member of the Michiana Goodwill Boosters, an organization that assists South Bend-based nonprofit Goodwill Industries of Michiana Inc. A membership application is on Goodwill’s website.

That will cost you $5, on top of the $5 deposit in a share savings account that CommunityWide Federal Credit Union requires.

And you’ll need to submit proof of your application when applying for membership with CommunityWide Federal Credit Union.

Members can purchase certificates of deposit through the mail or in person at one of the credit union’s branches in Elkhart, Goshen, Granger, Mishawaka, Plymouth, South Bend and Warsaw.

Learn more about CommunityWide Federal Credit Union at www.comwide.com or call 574-239-2700.

Compare these returns with the best CD rates from scores of banks in our extensive database.
