Golf Savings Bank has risen to the top of our rankings for five different CD rates

How did this small bank, with just one full-service branch in Mountlake Terrace, Wash., and 35 mortgage offices in Washington, Oregon, Montana and Idaho, pull off such an unusual feat?

While most banks spent the past couple of months cutting their CD rates, Golf Savings has held firm since Feb. 1.

As competitors dropped down, it moved up.

Although you need a hefty $10,000 minimum deposit to take advantage of these returns, here’s what Golf Savings is currently paying:

  • 3-month: 1.14% APY, the top rate in our rankings.
  • 6-month: 1.35% APY, the third-best rate in our rankings.
  • 12-month: 1.80% APY, the second-best rate.
  • 24-month: 2.20% APY, the second-best rate.
  • 36-month: 2.50% APY, the third-best rate.

Check our database of CD rates to compare all of these rates to the best deals from scores of other banks.

A real person, that’s pretty good these days. If they are doing something the competition isn’t, then eventually they will win out. Everyone is looking for the best standing in this economy. I hope they keep up the good work and set an example for every other bank.
