Get $500 Cash With Chase Credit Card

Earn this with the Chase Sapphire Preferred Card after spending $3,000.It’s been a long time since a credit card ponied up a large cash bonus, but Chase — which has led the way with sign-up offers in 2011 — is the first to impress.

For a limited time, new applicants for the Chase Sapphire Preferred Card can earn $500 cash or up to $625 in travel rewards.

The bonus comes in the form of 50,000 rewards points after you spend $3,000 in the first three months.

Points are worth 25% more when converted into travel rewards, so 50,000 points are worth $625.

You can redeem points on a 100 to $1 ratio, making a $500 statement credit the most likely option for consumers. You earn rewards on Chase Sapphire Preferred Card on every purchase, and you earn double points when you book travel through Chase.

Cardholders also get a variety of other perks like:

  • Dedicated customer service. Every time you call Chase, you’ll receive a live operator within 60 seconds. No automated services or robots to keep you on hold.
  • No foreign transaction fees. You will not be charged a fee for purchases made abroad. Most credit cards include a 1% to 3% foreign transaction fee (including online purchases), but not the Chase Sapphire Preferred.
  • An anniversary bonus. Every year you own the Chase Sapphire Preferred Card, you’ll receive a 7% dividend bonus, which is immediately added to your point balance. For example, if you accumulate 100,000 points in a year, you’ll receive a 7,000-point bonus.

The standard APR on this card is a very reasonable 13.24% variable (prime rate plus 9.99%), but there is no introductory period of lower APR on purchases or balance transfers.

One other downside to note: the Chase Sapphire Preferred Card has a $95 annual fee, but it’s waived the first year.

Chase continues to push the envelope when it comes to up-front bonuses. This deal is for a limited time only.

Craig: The Chase Sapphire Preferred card is the ninth card down on our cash-back credit cards page.

I believe the 25,000-point offer is for regular Chase Sapphire card.
