Free Doughnuts Today!

The only thing we like better than a great CD rate is free food.

That’s why we’ll be celebrating National Doughnut Day today, June 4.

Some of the biggest makers of Homer Simpson’s favorite treat will be giving them away to mark the occasion:

Krispy Kreme: Free doughnut with no other purchase required.

Dunkin’ Donuts: Free doughnut with beverage purchase.

LaMar’s Donuts: Free Ray’s Original Glazed doughnut with no other purchase.

Shipley Do-Nuts: Free glazed doughnut with any other purchase until noon.

Your favorite local doughnut emporium might also celebrate the day with a freebie. Doesn’t hurt to ask.

National Doughnut Day started in 1938 as a fund raiser for the Chicago Salvation Army. It wanted to help the needy during the Great Depression and honor the Salvation Army “Lassies” who served doughnuts to soldiers during World War I.
