The bottom of the page reads:

    * Annual Percentage Yield (APY) is accurate as of 06/30/06. APY is variable and subject to change after account opening. Minimum balance to open an account is $1.00.

** National savings average courtesy of Bankrate.com as of 06/30/06.

What is the rate for the HSBCdirect Online Savings right now?

I don’t see the FREE $25 Best Buy Gift Certificate.

I am on the phone with HSBC for about the 9th time since December asking about the $25 gift card that they keep promising me! I have yet to receive it! They keep telling me that it has been sent and they will cancel it and send me another one. And that it will take about three weeks to receive it. I think its a scam and they are just hoping I will stop calling.

Two months after my payment posted, I still had not received it. When I called, they said that it would be sent after the next statment closed. I’ve called 3 more since then, and they keep saying that it has been sent / they wil ‘re-issue’ it, and to wait another 7-10 days. I emailed then twice about it, and received the same response. I finally said forget it, closed the card and
