If you have a Citi credit card, you can get $5 tickets to hundreds of summer and fall concerts.
Just go this special page at Live Nation, the big concert promoter, and enter the following code: “citi??,” where “??” are the first two digits of your Citi credit card number.
That takes you to a complete listing of all the available concerts.
The last time we checked there were more than 550 of them from Albuquerque, N.M. to Wheatland, Calif. (if you search the listings alphabetically by location), at outdoor amphitheaters and clubs such as the House of Blues.
Acts ranged from rockers like Motley Crue and The Black Crowes to country singer Lee Ann Womack and ageless crooner Steve Lawrence.
We tried to buy $5 tickets to a few events and found the number is limited. We were allowed to purchase as few as one, and as many as four, to any given show. We also had to pay a $5.50 “ticket fee” and, sometimes, a $3.50 “venue fee.”
That took the final price up to $10.50 or maybe $14 per ticket. But that’s still a good deal considering that the cheapest, non-discounted seats were selling for $50 to $60 not counting the fees.
Don’t have a Citi credit card?
We think this deal on a Citi Platinum Select MasterCard is pretty good.
There’s no annual fee, 0% interest on purchases and balance transfers for the first year, and a variable interest rate as low as 11.99% (depending on your credit) after that.
