EverBank Hops To Top Of 3-, 5-Year CDs

EverBank logoFlorida-based EverBank today increased CD rates on its 36- and 60-month terms, but only enough to put it in a tie for the best nationally available deal for those maturities.

With a $1,500 minimum deposit, this primarily online bank pays:

  • 2.30% APY on 60-month CDs.
  • 1.45% APy on 36-month CDs.

EverBank (, which changes the yields on its certificates of deposit nearly every week, now shares the top spot on our CD Rates Leaderboard with one other bank for the 60-month term and two other banks for the 36-month term.

Synchrony Bank ( pays 2.30% APY with a $25,000 minimum deposit on 60-month CDs. Formerly known as GE Capital Retail Bank, this online bank has a single branch in Bridgewater, N.J. General Electric plans to end its ownership of this bank through an IPO and other stock maneuvers.

Intervest National Bank (, a community bank with a single office and six branches in Florida; and Sallie Mae Bank (, an online bank owned by the student lender with a single branch in Murray, Utah, pay 1.45% APY on 36-month CDs with a $2,500 minimum deposit.
