EverBank Boosts Return on 3-Year CDs, Ties iGObanking For Best National Rate

It’s been more than a month since we’ve had any change to report on our CD Rates Leaderboard.

But that unusually long period of stability was broken today by EverBank, which raised its return on 36-month CDs from 1.50% APY to 1.70% APY.

That moves the predominantly online bank with 11 Florida branches into a tie with iGObanking for the best nationally available rate.

EverBank also raised its 60-month rate from 2.13% APY to 2.26% APY, which brings it closer to the leading national return of 2.35% APY from another Florida bank, Citizens State Bank.

The last change to the Leaderboard was on Nov. 24, when iGO raised its return on 3-year certificates of deposit three-tenths of a percentage point to 1.70% APY.

That pushed the online division of Flushing Bank, which has 17 locations in New York, past the 1.50% APY being offered by Nationwide Bank.
