Elements Financial CU Has A National Deal

With St. Patrick’s Day approaching, Elements Financial is doling out some good luck for savers across the country.

The credit union’s “Shamrock Special” – billed as a limited-time offer – is paying a remarkable 2.00% APY on 32-month CDs.

This offering towers above the leading 36-month return on our CD Rates Leaderboard, which stands at 1.50% APY.

In fact, because the top national 3-year CDs haven’t paid 2.00% since August 2011, we’ve been deeming this rate a deal for 48-month certificates.

Known as Eli Lilly Federal Credit Union until its January name change, Elements requires a $10,000 minimum deposit for these promotional CDs.

Membership in the Indianapolis-based credit union is required, of course. But that’s a simple matter.

Employees, students, retirees or members of more than 50 affiliated organizations – including Eli Lilly, Amazon.com and Zappos.com – qualify for membership, as do family members of anyone who qualifies, even if they aren’t a member.

Anyone else can become eligible by first joining Tru Direction, a nonprofit association dedicated to financial literacy. A one-time member fee of $5 is required.

You can join Elements Financial and buy its certificates of deposit online, by phone or at one of its seven branches in Indianapolis, Clinton, Greenfield, and Lafayette.
