East Coast Deal: 60-Month, 2.4% CD Rates

With a $1,000 minimum deposit, it’s paying 2.40% APY.

That’s a fifth of a percentage point higher than the 60-month leader on our CD Rates Leaderboard.

Service Credit Union’s 24- and 36-month CD rates also beat the Leaderboard but not by as great of a margin. It’s offering 1.40% APY for 24-month CDs and 1.75% APY for 36-month CDs; both are a tenth of a percentage point higher than their term leaders.

Membership in Service Credit Union (www.servicecu.org) is available to those who live or work in the New Hampshire counties of Belknap, Carroll, Chesire, Grafton, Hillsborough, Merrimack, Rockingham, Strafford and Sullivan; and the towns of Bourne, Falmouth, Mashpee and Sandwich on Cape Cod, Mass.

U.S. civilian employees of the Department of Defense and standby, inactive, retired and active military personnel of the Department of Defense may also join, as well as their family members, and current credit union family members.

In addition, membership is extended to employees of certain credit union trade organizations and employer groups listed on the website.

Members can buy CDs online, over the phone or in person at one of Service Credit Union’s 38 branches worldwide. There are 21 in New Hampshire, one in Massachusetts and 16 on U.S. military bases in Germany.
