East Coast Deal: 13-Month CD Pays 1.3%

man and woman inserting money into piggy banksMountainOne Bank has special 13-month CD rates for New England and New York savers.

It pays 1.30% APY with a minimum deposit of $1,300 and a maximum deposit of $130,000.

That beats the top nationally available 12-month CD rate on our CD Rates Leaderboard by a quarter of a percentage point.

This special has been around since Jan. 13 (coincidence?), and the representative we spoke with didn’t know how long it would last.

You have to be a resident of New England or New York to purchase these certificates of deposit and do so in person at a branch or through the mail.

MountainOne Bank has six branches in Massachusetts. Only two, in North Adams and Pittsfield, operate under the MountainOne Bank name.

But you’ll still find this special at its two divisions: South Coastal Bank in Quincy, Rockland and Scituate; and Williamstown Savings Bank in Williamstown.
