Earn Top 3-, 5-, 7-Year CD Rates In Texas

Randolph-Brooks Federal Credit Union offers tiered CD rates. We last reported at the end of 2010 on the attractive long-term CD rates offered at Randolph-Brooks Federal Credit Union.

Given the sorry state savers find themselves in, it’s surprising the 7-year CD rates we told you about still pay as much as 3.45% APY.

But this Texas-based credit union also offers top 36- and 60-month CD rates.

Randolph-Brooks offers tiered CD rates based on your deposit amount, with the best rates reserved for a deposit of $75,000 or more.

Even with a $1,000 minimum deposit, the credit union beats the best nationally available 60-month deal on our CD Rates Leaderboard.

On 36-month CDs (with a top nationally available deal of 2.00% APY), it’s offering:

  • 2.02% APY with a $5,000 minimum deposit.
  • 2.07% APY with a $20,000 minimum deposit.
  • 2.12% APY with a $75,000 minimum deposit.

On 60-month CDs (with a top nationally available deal of 2.60% APY), it’s offering:

  • 2.68% APY with a $1,000 minimum deposit.
  • 2.73% APY with a $5,000 minimum deposit.
  • 2.78% APY with a $20,000 minimum deposit.
  • 2.84% APY with a $75,000 minimum deposit.

You must belong to Randolph-Brooks Federal Credit Union (www.rbfcu.org) to buy these certificates of deposit, but membership is open to anyone who lives or works in the Austin and San Antonio areas.

Members can purchase CDs over the phone or in person at one of the credit union’s more than three dozen locations.

Compare these returns with the best CD rates from scores of banks in our extensive database.

Randolph-Brooks has cut its CD rates a bit. The best you can now earn:
    — on a 7-year CD is 3.40% APY
    — on a 5-year CD is 2.78% APY
    — on a 3-year CD is 2.07% APY
These deals are still better than you’ll find on our CD Rates Leaderboard.

The slightly lower rates (see previous comment) are still available.
