Earn Tech Toys And 2% On A 2-Year CD

Another Web site operated by Flushing Savings Bank in New York has leapt to the top of our rankings of the best 24-month CD rates and you get a free high-tech toy.

But you have to act quickly because the offer ends Monday (Nov. 29).

You’ll find this deal on GiftsforBanking.com with the CDs being sold through our old friend iGObanking, which is also a Flushing-operated Web site.

It’s paying 2.00% APY on 24- and 36-month CDs with a minimum deposit of $5,000.

That’s about a quarter point more than the previous top deal on nationally available 2-year CD rates, and a quarter point less than the top-paying 3-year CD rates. (See our most recent CD Rates Leaderboard.)

Your choice of gifts depends on how much you invest. The more you save, the more valuable the gift.

Put $50,000 in a 2-year CD, for example, and a 40-inch Samsung LCD HDTV or an iPod Touch with Bose headphones and five $100 Best Buy gift cards are among the gifts you’ll be offered.

After you buy a CD, iGObanking will email you a catalogue listing all of the gifts you’re eligible to receive and instructions on how to place your order online.

Just remember that you’ll have to pay income tax on the value of the gift, as it is considered interest on your account.

Compare these returns with the best CD rates from scores of banks in our extensive database.

Thanks to Craig C. for calling this deal to our attention.

11/30 – they pulled 2 yr CD rates to 0.75% for all tiers. It was a good deal yesterday as they were giving 2% plus a 32GB ipad.
