Have not heard a lot of good things around the net about E-loan. Plus like someone said the deposit amount if awfully large for an initial deposit to get a bonus.

I would rather take $5000 and short a bank etf. Better yet take $4000 to short a bank etf and $1000 to short Goldman Sachs. They will be the next victim of the short sellers to drop them into the teens.

Larry – my experience in receiving the promised bonus or any other promotion has been good so far. I can’t comment on Capital One because I never had an account with them.

Usually, whenever I sign up for a promotion, I capture screens if applying online – or if its something in the mail I received, I save that as well. That way I have proof of the promotion terms and that may help later

Here’s a FWIW bit of info. I rec’d email response from WAMU. The online MMA rate is now 2.5%. It was up to 4% before JP took them over.

Salil: Thanks for catching my bad. It is E-Trade I was referring to re the $1 to open. While we’re talking about the quality of bonuses, has anyone experienced problems with Capital One brick /mortar bonuses? I gave them a coupon for $200 to open a checking acct with $50 on 8/8/08. Signed paperwork to trf a direct deposit to them. They put sales pitches on me to take out a line of credit/home equity. I appeased them by applying and got approved. They continue to try to get me to activate it. Meanwhile, they haven’t given me the $200 bonus. A customer rep said to wait till the end of 90 days…. Here is is-90 plus days – no bonus.

I have to agree with Travelinator and Larry on this offer – the return on investment is very very low. Add to this the fact that E-Loan doesn’t offer the best rates either.. -) Makes this bonus offer undesirable.

I am just wandering if John Wu will start Dollaraholic.com for sure? because Dollar fluctuation is very unpredictables in nowadays and many people need the informations. Larry – any chance you have E-LOAN and ETrade mixed up? From what I see on their website, you cannot open an account with $1 deposit with E-LOAN. You can with ETrade and they also promise a $25 bonus (or used to).

This offer is ridiculous plus: I wouldn’t trust these people. They promised a $25 bonus about 6 months ago with only a $1 deposit. They never paid it. -I haven’t got any email responses from them since they know I’m a bonus hustler.
