I do agree with all the negitive comments about Chase Credit Cards. I have had the same experience with them as most of the comments listed here. It was with great pleasure when I notified them to put their card where the sun does not shine. I found a great Visa card with Pentagon Fedral Credit Union.

I wish these ratings sites would also publish the fact that several of these rebate cards rotate their rewards calendars so you have to shop for something like gas during march to july or other period. This just doesnt work for me. Discover More and Chase Freedom both do this. At this point I am using my Shell Citibank card which gives 1% rebate for all purchases and 5% for their Shell gasoline. It’s pretty good and the site is easy to use. I pay my bill automatically every month in full.

SUNOCO Mastercard offers a 4% rebate on all Sunoco products, but raised my APR from 8% to 24% because I Pay my gas bill every month.

I got my Citi Mastercard for Shell two years ago. On October 15, 2009, I made a payment on the account (as I usually do twice a month). On October 19, 2009, I went to get gas at the Shell station and it did not go thru. Customer Service told me my account is closed because my FICO score went down. I received notice on 10-27-09 that their credit criteria had changed. I have never had a late payment on this account. In fact, all of my accounts are current. It seems to me that these credit companies and credit card companies are SCAMing the very people that support them. There was time when I regarded CITI and WELLS FARGO as friendly businesses. I WILL NO LONGER DO BUSINESS WITH EITHER COMPANY. It is sad that companies of this size and stature still rely on outdated credit company “scores”. Even worse is that these credit companies will not reveal the “nature” of how the “scores” are calculated. In these times of CREDIT, I think I will return to the old adage “CASH IS KING”

Don’t bother applying for the bp card unless you make late payments And incur finance charges! I was rejected because I always pay on time, and dont carry a balance,; chase said they can’t control what their partners are advertising, so are turning down apps that they deem to be unprofitable. There ought to be a law! I hope that Obama will get a tighter noose around cc co.s and banks!.

Although a 5% rebate on gas is available thru certain cards from American Express and Discover, there are limitations. American Express would be my first choice, but it is not accepted at all gas stations. The dollar limitation with Discover can be overcome with multiple cards, i.e., one each for husband, wife, and joint names..

BP CHASE sucks!! I have been a cardholder for 20 years (back when it used to be Amoco). They are now calculating their finance charge based on your average daily balance, so even if you pay it off every month you still must pay a finance charge. I will no longer be using the card or purchasing BP products!!

I did purchase a chase bp personal gas card not knowing that it wasn’t meant for business use. The brochure said you could purchase as much fuel as you want and still get the rebates, which I did for 3 years. The other day I went to use my card and it was canceled. Chase did it without informing me. They also would not let me claim my final rebate of $600.00 that I had earned and let roll over for several months. All of my calls to them were basically ignored and I was given the “tuff luck” response. Their personal-consumer program brochure still says purchase as much as you want and enjoy the rebates. Never again will those bastards get my business.

I just got a letter explaining that my BP account is being closed because the level of usage is “too high”?! I pay my balance in full each month and I feel they are just getting rid of accounts that they do not make money on. I have lived up to the agreement in every way. They should not be able to pick only drivers who won’t cost them as much in rebates and who never pay interest because they pay their accounts in full.

BP CHASE WARNING! After using the BP Chase card they just CLOSED my account with no warning claiming i am using it to much on gas and i must bu running a business and it is SUPPOSED TO BE USED ONLY FOR PERSONAL USE! I called them but they just ignored my request to reconsider that i don’t own a business and i own a SUV and two turbo outbacks! Their claim was that i purchased gas twice in two days so i must own a business! Pathetic, so long BP and CHASE!

I will buy the same gas that is a few cents cheaper anyway at other gas stations now…

I did some research on this and from what i hear the TrueEarnings AMEX card from Costco is the best deal around. It captures all purchases 3% for gasoline, 3% for restaurants, 2% for travel, 1% all else. It’s got no limitations on cash back you can earn. Plus since i shop at Costco it pays for my annual fee. It’s 3% cash back on gas but with no limitations unlike the other BS offers of 6% but limit to $100 spent a month. Anyway, i applied at this website and got approved online. Sweet!

Be careful with the Discover On The Road Card. It says 5% back on all gas and automotive purchases, but after you spend a $100 a month, they only give you 3/4% back in rebates. Good if you don’t spend much on gas, if you do, this card is not for you.

Just got a letter in the mail today from AMEX – SimplyCash Business…. they are changing their 5% back on Gas to just 3%. Still 5% on cellular charges and office supplies, but now 3% of Gas, plus $12,000 purchase cap on Gas and then it goes to 1% on Gas. Still 1% on everything else…. you may want to update the website or confirm this with AMEX since there is no more 5% on Gas with AMEX.

Discover Open Road card gives you 5% cash back on your first 100USD /billing cycle only. On every additional spending you can get back only 1%.
So if you spend 200 USD/month you can get back 5USD on the first 100 USD and 1 USD on the second 100 USD. It’s not the same. ALWAYS READ THE FINE PRINT!!!!!! Take care folks.

Have you checked into the Discover More card. While the open road card limits the cashback amount, the Discover More card does not.

This “up to” stuff in ads is getting bad. The fine print tells you the “up to 5%” translates to “about 1%”. When they “deceive” you in the beginning, what should you expect down the road? American Express, Chase, and the GM cards are the only cards that I have had for more than three years that are not full of deception.

We have had the open road Discover 5% off gas card for a couple years.I just found out that you only get 5% off on the first 100.00 in gas purchases then .25 to 2% depending on your monthly total. Bummer I think I will change to the Chase card.
