The best alternative I have found since Chase/BP changed the rewards is a no-fee VISA Platinum Rewards card from Pen Fed, a very large credit union. Qualifying for membership is very easy; the card offers a rebate of 5% for all gasoline purchases no matter the brand, 3% on groceries and 1% on other purchases. This card uses points, but these are readily convertible into prepaid VISA cards which are virtually identical to cash. There is also a very attractive bonus in place. Well, it looks like BP or Chase is ready to screw their customers. The new program is terrible!! It is very confusing and looks like it significantly reduces your rebates. Does anyone know if you can still bank your rebates and take them out as a cash payment instead of rebate at the pump? I’d prefer the cask payment b/c I use that for other expenses. Since this card now sucks any other good gas cards out there?? HELP!! Thanks!!

The new program is significantly worse and hard to understand. I plan on using a different rewards card after using the free $.10 per gallon rebate after March 3rd. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Unfortunately Chris C. and Terry are correct. Chase/BP has confirmed their understanding. The new program is better for Chase/BP, worse for its customers. The first message is from me to Chase/BP; the second is their reply.

Dear Sir/Madam:

Today I received a letter and a brochure concerning the
new BP Pump Rewards program. It took me quite a while
to determine just how it differed from my BP Signature
program. I write now to ask that you check my
understanding of the new program.

The old program was simple, straightforward. A BP
purchase earned me 5 percent in cash; other purchases
earned less.

It looks as though the new program is not simple. As
well, it seems less attractive. But I ask you to check my
understanding.

Is it the case that a BP purchase of $100 now results in a
15 cent per gallon discount for up to a 20 gallon
purchase? In the alternative, a BP purchase of $667; that
is, the amount of BP purchase required to earn $1.00 in
cents per gallon rebate, results in a statement credit of
$15?

If this is so, the maximum gain for the first alternative
is $3 or 3 percent. For the second alternative, the gain
is 2.24 percent obtained by dividing $667 by $15 .

Of course, I may have misunderstood, but from the
cardholder viewpoint, either alternative seems
considerably worse than the old arrangement.

Have had this card for years and enjoyed it . On 3/3/2012
they are changing the game and rules.
Instead of 5% on bp purchases we now get only 3%
to cash it in I get $15 per $20 earned. So really I get only
2.25% on Bp purchases.
And 0.75% instead of 1% on all other purchases.
Unless of course I carry along an extra car or gas cans to fill up
when using my rewards to be credited at the pump and then I get my full 3% rewards.

Tis card only pays 5% and is capped at $25.00 per month.

I would like to say once again no is really screwing people over. A change of your bp reward card program will now cost you millions of dollars from what few loyal customers. FYI making terms more complicated doesn’t meant the average person won’t see through bps attempts to cut more cost. What used to be a strait forward 5% reward program (I.e. $5 per net purchase of $100) is now a measly $.15 for each $100 spent, and you need $1 rebates to earn $15 credit. Confused yet? It breaks down like this, to get a 15 dollar rebate it will cost you $666.66 to spend at by. ($1 rebate/.15=6.66x$100=666. If you were to use that same amount under current plan you would receive $33.30 in cash back (666 x .05.) $33 vs $15 rebate is quite much. Also if you were to compare that with the rebate per gallon, you can only max out at $21 of savings with the 20 gallon restriction. ($1.05 x 20) think about this by, do you really want to screw you only few remaining loyal customers.

Hi, if you are having trouble with a website-use Safari or Opera as your internet browser. Many people are having trouble using Internet Explorer 8.0 and higher. My credit card company gave me this suggestion and I have not had any trouble since. Good Luck.

HOW can I enroll and pay online monthly. I have truied repeatredly but can never succeed, I am not the brightest light

I’ve been using this card for about 2 years. I buy regular unleaded and have had no problems getting my rebates. The online form is easy to use and the check comes much faster than I would expect. Top notch card, especially with gas climbing to $5/gal

Great Card!!! I charge absolutely everything to two cards that give rebates. (The key is, of course, to pay the bill in full every month) This one is the best. I have received $650 in rebate checks from BP in the past twelve months.

I have had my card since 2002. I was told by BP my card was cancelled.
I never received a notice of that. I have never, never been late in paying my bill on time and most of time I would pay it off. I was embrassed on July 14th. at a BP station in front of people I knew that my card had been cancelled and not knowing why. I had used my card in March and charged $151.00 and paid it off. I only used my card when my family and I went on trips. I have shredded my card and as far as I am concern BP can kiss my _ _ _. I will spread this around to show how people can be treated especially when you have always done the right thing and NEVER late paying.

The only BP stations in this area are Arco( Los Angeles). Arco usually only accepts debit cards. I guess this means I can’t use this card.

This is a great card. Rewards are easy to apply for online and come in the mail in about 5-7 days. Don’t understabd others having difficulty getting their rewards. Highly recommend.
