Chase: The $100 Bonus Credit Card King

The Chase Freedom Visa has been a favorite rewards credit card of ours for some time. Now it’s upped the ante by offering a $100 signing bonus for new cardholders.

The Chase Freedom Visa offers a 1% cash back bonus on all purchases, plus a 5% seasonal bonus.

Of course, as with all bonus programs, there’s a catch.

To get the $100, you have to spend $500 in the first three months with your Chase Freedom card.

The rewards card offers the fairly standard 1% cash back on every purchase, but also a nice “seasonal rewards” 5% bonus up to $1,500 spent in categories like groceries and gas that rotate throughout the year.

There is no annual fee.

You’ll get a 0% intro APR on purchases for six months and balance transfers for 12 months.

After the introductory period ends, the interest rate will be a variable 11.99% to 22.99% depending on your credit history. (That’s the prime rate plus 8.74% to 19.74%.)

Those aren’t the greatest rates, but rewards cards make the most sense for consumers who don’t carry a balance and never pay interest charges.
