Chase Boosts Cash-Back Credit Card Offer

The Chase Freedom Visa offers a 1% cash back bonus on all purchases, plus a 5% seasonal bonus. If you’ve been following my credit card posts, you know Chase is a leader in sign-up bonuses for new credit card holders.

Originally, the big bank offered $50 cash back for signing up for a Chase Freedom Visa, then $100 and $150 after that.

Today, the offer stands at $200, making its deal the largest bonus for cash-back credit cards.

The $200 bonus cash back offered on the Chase Freedom Visa comes in two parts.

The first $100 is added as a statement credit after you spend $500 within the first three months. The second $100 is added the same way, after you’ve spent an additional $1,000 within the first six months.

The Chase Freedom Visa also includes a great rewards program, which gives consumers 5% cash back on select purchases every month, as well as 1% cash back on everything else.

For the remainder of 2011, you’ll earn 5% cash back on:

  • Gas, airline and hotel purchases between July and September.
  • Dining, department store, movie and charity purchases between October and December.

The purchase APR on the Chase Freedom Visa is a variable 11.99% to 22.99% (prime rate plus 8.74% to 19.74%), depending on your credit history.

Unfortunately, there is no intro APR on purchases or balance transfers with this version of the Chase Freedom Visa. The balance transfer fee is 3% with a $5 minimum.

One last feature to point out: This cash-back credit card has no annual fee.

The $200 cash-back offer Chase is offering on this card is only going to be available for a limited time.

I walked into Chase today and the personal banker was only familiar with the $100 bonus. It could be that only a select group is being sent this offer.

@ Mike – Seriously, where do you guys get these offers from when the banks itself aren’t aware of them. Your application link states you have to spend an additional $1000 in 6 months to qualify for the additional $100 bonus. Well, then tell me what is this application code (below) –
    https://applynowdc1.chase.com/FlexAppWeb/renderApp.do?SPID=DGWR&CELL=6H8X&AFFID=PPkX79_c.b0-u7EA5H5jpo7_F5FiqDarHA&pvid=163358FOF495919725
I question the VALIDITY of these codes, whether their on your site or others?!?!?
