CD Rates Leaderboard For Oct. 13, 2011: 60-Month CD Rates Settle Back To 2.20%

This is a great page to bookmark so you can always find the best nationally available deals on the most popular CD rates. That didn’t last long.

Just two days after we added it to our list of banks to watch, Colorado’s 5Star Bank knocked its 60-month CD rate down nearly a third of a percentage point.

So we’re back to where we were last week: First Internet Bank of Indiana and Quaint Oak Bank offer the top nationally available 5-year CD rates on our CD Rates Leaderboard.

They’re both paying 2.20% APY.

First Internet Bank of Indiana (www.firstib.com) is an online bank located in Indianapolis. It requires a $1,000 minimum deposit.

Quaint Oak Bank (www.quaintoak.com) is a suburban Philadelphia bank with a single location. It requires a $500 minimum deposit.

First Internet Bank last changed its certificate of deposit rates on Sept. 23; Quaint Oak has held its top rate since Sept. 2.

Two other banks pay 2.15% APY. They are:

Discover Bank (www.discoverbank.com), an online bank owned by the credit card company, which requires a $2,500 minimum deposit.

MainStreet Bank, a northern Virginia bank that sells its CDs nationally through its airbanking.com website and requires a $500 minimum deposit.

Banks qualify for our rankings by accepting deposits from all savers, regardless of where they live, either online or through the mail.

Compare these returns with the best CD rates from scores of banks in our extensive database.
