CD Rates Leaderboard For August 3, 2011:
Down To One Bank With Best 2-Year Deal

This is a great page to bookmark so you can always find the best nationally available deals on the most popular CD rates. They’re dropping like flies this week. Now there’s only one bank offering the best nationally available deal on 24-month CD rates.

Salem Five Bank cut its return from 1.50% APY to 1.40% APY and fell off our CD Rates Leaderboard this morning.

Now you’ll have to go to MainStreet Bank, which has four branches in northern Virginia, to earn that much on a 2-year certificate of deposit.

MainStreet sells CDs nationwide through a website called that’s a little annoying to use.

You’ve got to click and click and click through the online application for an “airsavings account” to find the bank’s CD rates and application process.

But with MainStreet now offering the top 24-, 36- and 60-month CD rates, I think you’ve got to put up with that ridiculous design.

It looks like we’ll spend the rest of the morning writing up a local deal that pays New York savers way more than MainStreet on 3-year CDs. Look for that early this afternoon.

Don't miss out on the next bank deal. Get the newest deals delivered straight to your inbox!
