CD Rates Hit 2.5% In New Orleans

Crescent Bank and Trust offers its top rates with a minimum deposit of as little as $1,000.Many banks and credit unions have made deep cuts to their CD rates this year.

Not so for Crescent Bank and Trust in New Orleans, which has kept its strong 60-month CD offer we wrote about in January.

It pays a healthy 2.50% APY with a $1,000 minimum deposit.

That’s more than two-thirds of a percentage point better than the top nationally available deal on our CD Rates Leaderboard.

What’s more, Crescent Bank has a number of other top deals, including some special offers, all of which top what’s available to savers nationwide.

With a $1,000 minimum deposit, it pays:

  • 1.85% APY on 36-month CDs.
  • 1.90% APY on 48-month CDs.

With a $5,000 minimum deposit, it pays:

  • 2.15% APY on 35-month CDs.
  • 2.20% APY on 37-month CDs.
  • 2.25% APY on 44-month CDs.

A branch visit is required to purchase these certificates of deposit.

Crescent Bank and Trust has two full-service Louisiana branches — in New Orleans and Metairie — and several limited-purpose branches in Alexandria, Baton Rouge, Covington, Monroe and Shreveport.

    Lot’s of rate cuts here. 60-month CD now pays 2%, 36-month pays 1.75%, 48-month pays 1.80%, 35-month pays 1.75%. The 37- and 44-month deals remain unchanged.
