Blue Ridge Deal On 49-Month CD Rates

Summit Community Bank continues to offer a top-paying odd-term CD for savers in West Virginia and northern Virginia.

It’s paying 3.00% APY on a 49-month certificate of deposit with a $5,000 minimum deposit.

Summit Community Bank continues to offer a top-paying odd-term CD for savers in West Virginia and northern Virginia.

That’s a half-point more than the best nationally available 36-month CDs and almost matches the top nationally available returns on 60-month CDs.

We first reported on this deal in July and the bank confirms that it’s still available – a long run for a special this good.

But these certificates of deposit can only be purchased at one of Summit Community Bank’s 15 branches.

Compare these returns with the best CD rates from scores of other banks in our database.

I am a single, child free woman. I am not in the habit of buying toys. So imagine my shock when I logged into my checking account and found a $112 purchase at the Lego store. I have to figure the crook that used my card wanted to see if I would catch a single fraudulent purchase, and would have continued to occasionally ding my account again until I did. Maybe I’ll combine a fall color tour with a CD buying spree. Road trip!
