Discover Bank Reviews & Ratings
Account funding took over a week, customer service assures me the money is there but here i am 20 days after funding with no access to the funds or the online banking service. when i asked them to just return the money and close the account they said it had to be in writing. they don’t care about me or my $20,000 and they won’t care about yours.
Based on the reviews below, Discover must be getting a lot better. Their CDs have good rates. Setting up and funding the account was a breeze. I have opened online CDs with several banks (Doral in particular was painstakingly slow and difficult)but this one was the easiest so far. I did it on my lunch break and the funds transfered in a couple of days using ACH. Very happy so far.
Ive had a DIS MM and DIS card for many years. The DIS card website is fairly easy to use but the Discover MM website is horrible. It is difficult to navigate around the site, the help and contact pages contact only an average amount of info and setting up online transfers for the MM is a pain.
poor service and hard to access your funds
I opened a money market account with Disc. They have great rates and I can use my Disc. card to withdraw money from the account if I need it. Or I can use my Disc. debit card to get money too. Previous post said they dont have online banking but they do. Thats how I keep track of my balances. They have great CD rates too!!
I tried to open an acccount ($100,000) wire xfer but had too many delays. I xcelled out and the people at Discv did not care!
Not at all happy. They keep droping the rate. And they chage $ 10.00 to transfer money into account.
Anything from Discover is a ripoff.
Not a bad deal, but theres a min. deposit of $2,500.00 so not good for begginners.
Discover does not have internet banking and no branches. The only access you have to your money is to wait for checks or ask them to wire money over the phone for a charge after you mail an authorization.
I tried to open a money market account online with a significant deposit ($95,000). I entered the correct bank acct info for the EFT funding (with printout proof), but when they processed the application, they left out a digit from my funding account number. It took them over 8 business days to notify me that the funding had failed. After faxing them my original online application, they agreed that it was a data entry error on their part, but no supervisor has called me back yet to tell me if they will credit me with the lost week of interest due to their mistake. I think Ill put my money elsewhere.
I tried to open an account with Discover, but their system did not
ecognize the bank from which I wanted to transfer funds. Three other banks have recognized it, so at this point Discover does not get my business

Although higher interest rates are always a plus…we have never had anything but possitive dealings with this company. Money and statements always on time. Free checks from account.
would have expected better from such a banking giant.
these rates suck
