Posted On: 4/28/2008We have had CD’s with E-Loan. The transactions have gone timely and smoothly, including having some funds sent back to us and some renewed. They were also good at reminding us before the CD’s expired.
Posted On: 4/23/2008Be careful creating CD accounts on the website. I accidently created two which cost me over $500 in fees. ELoan eventually fixed the problem, but had I had less cash on hand it would have cost me even more. Dealing with the customer service was frustrating in the extreme. I will not use Eloan again.
Posted On: 4/04/2008I tried to open an E-Loan savings account a few months ago and had no end of problems with them! They royally screwed up trying to get my account setup and I had to call them numerous times to try and get someone to resolve my issue. I finally said screw it; the reason I went to them in the first place was because they had the highest rate at the time. Then, after I had canceled everything, they kept spamming me with promotional offers and I made it very clear to them that I was never going to do business with them again. DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME WITH E-LOAN!!!

Posted On: 1/27/2008I like ELOAN’s online banking interface, but I don’t like how they keep dropping rates!
When I signed up, just 3 months ago, I was getting a cool 5.00% APY.
Now I am getting 4.15%
What gives? If Washington Mutual can do 4.75% and FNBO can do well, why cant ELOAN?

Theyre site goes down everyday right around 10pm and the outage lasts for hours. I normally do all my banking late in the evenings and this is a serious problem. You cant do anything like transfer money in/out, check balances, etc… Their software is junk.

Posted On: 11/16/2007the initial process to open an online account is fairly simple and not overly intrusive. withdrawals are processed in a timely manner without fees. however, there is one very important consideration, which is this: withdrawals of money may be initiated only by you and only online. this became a problem for me because, for a brief period of time, and for reasons i never understood, i was unable to access the secure online site and, therefore, was unable to withdraw money. when i telephoned a person in customer service and explained the dilemma, i was told, most emphatically, that there was no alternative method of withdrawal! so funds sat, as it were, frozen in my account for a period of time. the solution: ultimately the issue was resolved by my going downtown to the public library and using one of the computers there to effect the transfer. but consider: what if, again, for reasons unknown, i had not been able to get into the website via the library computer?… i would not recommend placing money in any bank that limits withdrawals to online access only and does not provide alternatives such as telephone, mail or a notarized form!

DOES NOT ALLOW TRANSACTIONS INITIATED BY REMOTE BANK. You can link them, but any transactions you attempt are returned for insufficient funds even if the $$$ is there!!!
Only allow you to link one account on their side for transactions.
Rate is now only 4.75%, not competitive in this market. Stick with CountryWide or OneUnited

Posted On: 10/27/2007When linking my account, they not only made 2 deposits they withdrew two deposits which is not mentioned in their rules. Was a hassle to get them to pay the fee for too many withdrawals on my linked account. And now their rates are low.
