Be careful of this promotion. I did everything right and a rep at the bank actually filled out everything for us. That was in July and we still haven’t gotten the check. I spoke to a customer service rep for their referral program who told me that I did indeed qualify but they needed my account number. I tried clearing this up with the bank rep but they stopped returning my calls. More hassle than it’s worth.

I opened a, “New Wave” Checking account at Flagstar Bank. All I have to do is have a direct deposit each month ($250) and use my debit card 15 times per month (that’s hard) and they pay me $6/Month. Plus they gave me $100 to open the account (and establish the direct deposit) Not bad, $172 this year and $72 per year thereafter.

I opened an INGdirect account a few months back and received $25 ($250 minimum for the bonus) after being referred by another customer (they also received $10). Everything went super smoothly and the website is very direct and easy to use. The one bad thing is my APY has been steadily dropping: 3.00% to 2.75% to 2.5%… still better than my .0023% or so through Bank of America though!

I just opened a savings account at ingdirect.com and received $25 instantly posted to my account. Very easy and it only required $100 to open. No strings. They also offer refer a friend bonues. Code was amz238/ksksmfds.

Thanks for letting us know about other banking websites out there in your short post. I will be sure to check out that website instead of this one.
It was nice, but sometimes you just have to move on. If you don’t offer frequent advice or deals I’m going to have to research how to earn more for my money elsewhere.

WARNING!!! Do not sign up for this without printing every single page that supports the promotion you are entitled!! I wouldn’t sign up for it at all if I were you; it’s not worth it. I signed up in July for the $75 incentive, which was supposed to be awarded after 90 days. I dotted my i’s and crossed my t’s, played by their rules and had the proper accounts (in good standing). I am still trying to get my money from them. The banking centers can hardly help you because they claim online banking is a completely separate entity. When they can dig up information, it is never good. Last week I was told the check would be cut in MARCH 2009; almost six months after it should have been paid. Take what you will out of this, but all the extra time I have spent trying to collect has surpassed the original “bonus”.
