Another Philly Bank Offers Top CD Rates

Prudential Savings Bank Pays 2.26% on its 60-month CDs.There’s a battle brewing near Philadelphia over CD rates.

We’ve found yet another institution offering competitive CD rates.

The latest entry is Prudential Savings Bank, which pays 2.26% APY on its 60-month CDs. There is a $500 minimum deposit.

That beats the best nationally available deal offered by another Philadelphia area bank, Quaint Oak Bank, which leads the 60-month term on our CD Rates Leaderboard. It’s paying a slightly lower 2.20% with the same minimum deposit.

And we’ve also seen top rates recently from Washington Savings Bank and Citadel Federal Credit Union.

To buy Prudential Savings Banks certificates of deposit, you have to live in the Philadelphia area or in neighboring south New Jersey. You also need to visit a branch in person if you’ve never bought a CD there before.

Prudential Savings Bank (www.prudentialsavings.com) has six branches in Philadelphia and a seventh in Drexel Hill.

    Prudential Savings’ rate is still available, and looking better since Quaint Oak dropped its 60-month rate to 2.15% APY.
