On Thursday, we told you about a good local deal on CD rates at Affinity Bank in Atlanta.
The single-office bank also offers a money market account for Georgia residents that beats the top nationally available deal.
You can earn its highest rate — 1.40% — with a balance of $250,000 or more.
But even more modest balance of $25,000-$99,000 will earn you a rate of 1.30% APY.
That beats the top nationally available deal of 1.25% APY offered by Hudson City Savings Bank and AmTrust Bank.
At Affinity, a balance between $2,500 and $9,999 will earn 1.11%. That rate increases to 1.20% for balances between $10,000 and $24,999.
The account requires a $2,500 minimum opening deposit. A monthly $10 service fee is waived if you keep your balance above $2,500.
You can open an Affinity Bank account online, over the phone or in person at its one office, which is located on New Northside Drive NW — just off Interstate 285 at exit 22.
