60-Month CD Pays 2.52% To All Savers

Hand pressing buttons on a calculatorSavers everywhere can take advantage of Chartway Federal Credit Union’s above-Leaderboard 60-month CD rates.

It pays 2.52% APY with a $10,000 minimum deposit.

That easily beats the top nationally available 60-month offer on our CD Rates Leaderboard, which rose to 2.35% APY in September.

You have to be a member of Chartway Federal Credit Union to buy these certificates of deposit.

Membership is available to anyone who lives, works, worships or attend schools in an area served by one of its branches; who works for or is an immediate family member of one of the credit union’s 750 associated companies; and members’ family members.

But anyone can join by first making a $10 donation to the credit union’s philanthropic arm, the We Promise Foundation, which grants wishes of children suffering severe illness or hardship.

That donation is in addition to the $5 deposit in a share savings account required for membership.

Members can buy CDs online if their deposit is less than $50,000. To buy a CD with a deposit higher than that amount, they need to call member services or visit a branch in person.

The Virginia Beach, Virginia-based credit union has 55 branches in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, Rhode Island, Texas, Utah and Virginia. Utah branches are operated as HeritageWest Credit Union and SouthWest Community Credit Union.
