Some investors choose to invest in money market accounts and seek out accounts with the best money market rates. A money market account is like a savings account and when an investor has located the best money market rates and has invested in a money market account they earn more interest than they would with a traditional savings account. Money market accounts are fairly stable, and an investor will find that their investment is diversified by the bank in which the money has been deposited. Typically, when money has been invested in a money market account it is then invested by the institution into bank CDs, and treasury bills.
