4-Year CD: Rhode Island Deal Pays 2%

Money coming out of a calculatorAlliance Blackstone Valley Federal Credit Union is offering its Rhode Island members the increasingly elusive 2.00% APY – for 48-month CDs.

That’s a fifth of a percentage point higher than the best nationally available 60-month CD rate on our CD Rates Leaderboard.

It also pays 1.50% APY for 36-month CDs, which is a tenth of a percentage point better than its term leader.

A minimum deposit of $2,500 is required to open a CD account.

You have to be a member of Alliance Blackstone Valley Federal Credit Union to purchase these certificates of deposit.

Membership is available to those who live, work, worship or attend school in Burrillville, Central Falls, Cumberland, East Providence, Lincoln, North Providence, Pawtucket, North Smithfield or Providence – all located in Providence County. Family and household members of current members can also join.

Membership requires a $5 deposit in a share savings account.

Members have to buy CDs in person at the credit union’s single office, at 594 Central Ave. in Pawtucket.

    Alliance Blackstone Valley has dropped its rates. The 48-month CD now pays 1.50% APY and the 36-month CD pays 1.20% APY.
