4 Top CD Rates In Cincinnati

hand catching coins falling from aboveCincinnati-area savers have access to the best 36-month CD rates we’ve seen in a while.

Cintel Financial Federal Credit Union pays 1.75% APY with a minimum deposit of $10,000 and – here’s the catch – an active checking account.

As you’ve probably gathered, we’re not typically fans of relationship rates. But the top nationally available 36-month CD rate on our CD Rates Leaderboard has yet to budge from 1.45% APY this year, which makes this offer too good to ignore.

The credit union also pays 1.30% APY for 24-month CDs, 1.10% APY for 12-month CDs and 1.00% APY for 6-month CDs.

Comparing 3-year CDsWhile those rates are above-Leaderboard, they don’t beat their term leaders by nearly as large of a margin.

You have to be a member of Cintel Financial Federal Credit Union to buy these certificates of deposit.

Membership is open to those who live, work, worship, operate a business or attend school in Cincinnati or Norwood. Employees of the credit union’s sponsor companies, which are listed on the website, can also join.

Membership requires a $5 deposit in a share savings account.

Members can buy CDs over the phone or in person at one of the credit union’s two offices.

They are in downtown Cincinnati, at 525 Vine St., and in Norwood, at 4600 Montgomery Road.

Earlier this year, Cintel merged with Wisconsin-based Connexus Credit Union, which offers the same certificate of deposit deals, but they are available to savers nationally.

UPDATE: 9/5: It appears the merger between Cintel and Connexus is complete. Savers who go to the Cintel website are now re-directed to a welcome page on the Connexus website. CD rates are unchanged.
